Current News

SMJ is the Executive Director of Andy’s Summer Playhouse in Wilton, NH.
SMJ will be directing CCT’s production of Cabaret in Columbus, OH. The production is scheduled to run from February 20 to March 1, 2026.

SMJ comes at directing with the spirit of a devisor - listening and encouraging all ideas as long as they are supported in the text. SMJ likes to blend their 18 years of mime practice into staging, creating ensemble-heavy productions when possible. Highlights as a theatermaker include directing the first high school productions of John Proctor is the Villain and Fun Home (Ohio EdTA), Once on This Island JR, the first joint production between all six high schools at the MLK Educational Complex (Lincoln Center Theater Education), War and Play: A Clown Odyssey of Survival (Lincoln Center / National Queer Theater as well as a production at the inaugural NYC PhysFest), Transhumance (The Kennedy Center), No Mercy (workshop production at the DR2 Theater), and Pastel Color Ripples (an audio drama for New Light Theater Project), as well as choreographing Carrie the Musical (Ohio EdTA), Invention of Theater (World Premiere at Otterbein Summer Theater), and The Yellow Boat (Otterbein University).
